Bet Tracker

Bet Tracker is a web app I built to follow a shared slate of season-long sports bets from any phone or computer. It tracks player props, team-win totals, award and playoff futures, and parlays in one dashboard. A GitHub Action pulls player stats and team records from ESPN every hour and commits them, so progress updates without anyone doing the math. A Chart Report scores each bet's pace against what its line needs, a stake-versus-payout chart shows exposure by bet type or person, and summary cards cover record, P/L, ROI and closing-line value. Bets are added, edited and settled from a form in the browser that commits straight to the repo through the GitHub API. It's a static site on GitHub Pages with no build step, and changes are tested on a staging copy before they go live.
ESPN auto-refresh
An hourly GitHub Action pulls each player's season stats and every team's overall record from ESPN and commits the updated data file. A Refresh ESPN button gives an instant check in the browser.
Pace scoring
The Chart Report scores every prop, win total and parlay leg on pace rather than raw progress. Player props blend progress with per-game pace against the line, win totals compare win or loss rate with what the line requires, and the overall score is weighted by payout.
Charts and summary
A Chart.js stake-versus-payout chart groups exposure by bet type or by person. Summary cards show tickets, money at stake, potential payout, record, net P/L and ROI, and every formula is explained behind a "?" button.
Bet entry form
Add, edit and settle bets from a validated in-browser form. Saving commits to the data file through the GitHub API with a fine-grained token kept only in the browser, merged onto the newest data so the hourly refresh is never overwritten. It can also export the file instead.
Closing-line value
Each ticket can store the odds when placed and the closing odds. The tracker shows CLV per bet, plus the average CLV and the share of bets that beat the closing line.
Parlays and filters
Parlays stay one contingent ticket with a progress bar for every leg. Search, sort, and filters for user, sport, bet type, timeline and status narrow the list, and it comes in light and dark modes.
